The Rioja Oriental has the lion's share of Rioja's Garnacha plantings, but the grape arguably produces its best wines in the cooler parts of the region. This comes from a vineyard at 550 metres in Laguardia and is wonderfully smooth, scented and refreshing, even at 15% alcohol, with raspberry and red cherry fruit and subtle oak. 2021-26
