Looking much better than the bottle I tasted last year, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Secret Barville starts off with notes of stewed and spiced raspberries. It's full-bodied and supple, offering a smooth, creamy drink laden with cherry and chocolate flavors.

One of the finest wines I’ve tasted from this estate is the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Secret Barville. This blend of mostly Grenache (there’s 15% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre) boasts a deep purple color and sensational notes of blackberries, peppery herbs, new leather and cured meats. Full-bodied, mouthfilling, supple and elegant, with gorgeous purity and finesse, it’s just a killer wine.
