Cantocuerdas Albillo 2018

The dry white 2018 Cantocuerdas Albillo de Bernabeleva is from a cool year when the grapes ripened slowly, and the wine has notes of yellow fruit and aromas that gravitate more toward the honeyed spectrum, giving a sensation of higher ripeness. But the palate has less volume and ripeness than what you expect based on the aromas, something that tends to happen in the cooler years. Higher yields helped to contain the alcohol, which is also around 12.5%, and it has a salty and fresh twist on the finish. These whites have good aging potential, as they mature slowly in bottle. 3,300 bottles produced. It was bottled before the 2018 harvest, in July or August.
