A fragrant nose of mulberries, cassis, cedar, bay leaves, toasted walnuts and baking spices. Full-bodied with firm, fine tannins. Structured, with a chalky texture. Firm, dry tannin frame and toasted-oak character. Better after 2024.
The 2019 Lafitte has bold yet well-defined bouquet ample red currant and wild strawberry scents, orange peel and touch of marmalade come through with time. The well-balanced palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine tannins and judicious use of oak on the finish. A top class of Côtes de Bordeaux. (Neal Martin)
The finest vintage I've tasted from this estate, the 2019 Château Lafitte has a richer, medium-bodied, nicely textured style that carries plenty of earthy dark fruits, violets, and cedar aromas and flavors. Beautifully done, this mouthfilling, charming effort is going to keep for 7-8 years.
En Camblanes-et-Meynac, enclave estratégico con vistas al valle del Garona, se ubica esta bodega. Su nombre se debe al négociant de vinos Raymond Lafitte, quien compró la finca en 1763, pero fue Juliette Mengin, quien impulsó su desarrollo.
