The Wine Advocate:

The Cariñena/Mazuelo 2018 Mazuelo Parcelas Singulares was produced with grapes from a 0.9-hectare head-pruned and dry-farmed vineyard called El Plano, which was planted in 1994 in the village of Cervera de la Cañada at 750 meters in altitude with a massal selection from the village of Almonacid de la Sierra. It fermented with 20% full clusters in two open-top 900-liter oak vats and matured in two 900-liter Flextank eggs, so it's mostly unoaked, as the fermentation does not really lend a lot of aromas or flavors of the containers to the wine. They picked the grapes to keep the acidity, to keep the wine naked and varietal. It's very clean and precise, varietal, with more elegance than the previous vintage. It has varietal character and some austerity in the palate. 2,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2020. - Luis Gutiérrez.
