Avaliação dos peritos

The Wine Advocate:

An impressive follow-up to the 2015 version, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape David et Goliath is full-bodied, creamy and plush, showing remarkable richness, length and purity, without excessive ripeness or weight. Cherry and peach fruit picks up hints of dried spices, thyme and bay leaf on the long finish. It's almost all old-vine Grenache, sourced from the rolled stones of the Les Saummades lieu-dit and aged in demi-muids.

Jeb Dunnuck:

The inkiest of the releases from Fontavin, the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape David Et Goliath checks in as 95% Grenache and 5% Syrah brought up all in demi-muids. It's a modern slanted effort that offers terrific purity in its black raspberry, blueberry, sappy garrigue, and pepper aromas and flavors. With medium to full body, a kiss of background oak, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish, it's a wine that shows a modern edge in its fruit and texture yet never loses its Southern Rhône soul.
