The Wine Advocate:

The single-vineyard 2017 Finca Cascorrales comes from a plot planted in 1895 that delivers wines with more tannin. It fermented in four used open-top 500-liter oak barrels, where the wine underwent malolactic and matured for 11 months followed by eight more months in concrete. Here, they picked the grapes from the vines that didn't suffer the frost marking the vines one by one. It has more tannin than Peñalobera, and there is a tad more ripeness and concentration. This is a wine that takes longer in bottle, especially to polish the tannin, but it's long and is already getting polished by the time in bottle. This is a triumph over the adverse conditions of 2017. 1,123 bottles were filled in May 2019.
