La Danza del Viento La Isilla 2019

The 2019 La Danza del Viento La Isilla was produced with Garnacha from an extremely old vineyard on fine sandy soils that tend to deliver more ethereal wines. It contains 2% destemmed Cariñena that fermented together with the Garnacha and then matured in 500-liter oak barrels for 14 months. It has 14% alcohol and a low pH of 3.2 with 6.2 grams of acidity, but there's a big difference between the aromatics and the sensation of this 2019 compared with the 2020, which has more fruit. The vineyard, which is an enclosed place, suffered a lot of heat, from the weather and the nearby fire, and there were four days of very intense hear from the funnel effect that concentrated the heat. Anyway, this is still aromatic and elegant, with fine chalky tannins, but suffers in the comparison with the 2020. The palate keeps the fine mouthfeel from the sandy soils. I tasted two bottles, and the sensations were consistent. 950 bottles were filled in June 2021.
