Les Prunes 2018

I had a preview of the 2018 Les Prunes rosé that they were getting ready to bottle. 2018 was a challenging year, but once they got rid of the grapes that had botrytis, they managed 12.5% alcohol. It has plenty of freshness, and it feels more delicate and with less color than the 2017. It's electric and fresh on the palate, with great acidity that also gives it length. It's great to see great rosé being produced again. There will be some 10,000 bottles of this. I tasted the bottled wine a few weeks later, and they had captured all the nuance and elegance the unbottled sample had along with very good freshness. - Luis Gutiérrez.
