The Wine Advocate:

Another plot from the village of La Seca where they are located produced the 2016 Majuelo Los Picones, named after the Verdejo vineyard they planted in 1983. The color is a darker golden and the explanation is they fermented with 20% skins, which add texture, tannins and obviously color to the wine that is also older than the other wines I tasted. It has good aromatic complexity, and even if the year was cooler, the wine feels rounder and the acidity more integrated, perhaps because of the process. It fermented in 500-liter oak barrels with full malolactic. It matured in 500- and 600-liter oak barrels with lees but without bâtonnage, but like the rest of the range, it's not oaky at all. 3,000 bottles were filled in August 2018.
