The Wine Advocate:

The 2017 Pancrudo is pure Garnacha from the village of Badarán, produced exactly in the same way as 2016. It's from a riper and easier year that delivered round-ish wines with a touch more alcohol and less acidity, but still vibrant and elegant. This is a more approachable version of an extreme zone. This is more in the style of 2015, juicier and a little headier than 2016, combining good ripeness with balance and integrated oak. The palate is juicy and elegant, with chalky, fine-grained tannins. 5,527 bottles and 200 magnums were filled in February 2019. - Luis Gutiérrez.

James Suckling:

Extremely focused and pretty with ripe strawberries and crushed black pepper, as well as lavender undertones. Flavorful and tight finish. Drink now.

Decanter:

Fresh nose of vibrant peppery strawberries with aromatic herbs. Lovely rich palate with load of sweet fruit concentration.

Tim Atkin:

The 80 to 100-year-old vines that supply the grapes for this remarkable Garnacha look like trees, according to Juan Antonio Leza. Showing the freshness of old vines at 650 metres, this is a refined, focused, refreshing red of great purity, intensity and balanced, with lots of floral intensity, fine tannins and understated wood. 2022-30
