There is a range called Pequeñas Producciones Vinícolas for small lots of almost experimental wines that can change from vintage to vintage. This time I tasted a white 2020 Pequeñas Producciones Macabeo Moscatel produced with a majority of old-vine Macabeo from Pinoso with just 3% Moscatel from the property in Lliber because it developed a veil of flor yeasts in tinaja. The grapes were picked with tension, and the wine is chalky and has intense notes of chamomile, citrus, fennel, chalk and a serious, seamless palate with great balance and freshness. It has 13% alcohol and a low pH (3.3). It finishes very tasty. Macabeo develops nicely in bottle, and this should not be an exception. 2,600 bottles were filled in July 2021.
