The Wine Advocate:

One of three single-vineyard bottlings, the 2018 Pico Ferreira was produced with grapes from a unique plot on slate soils at some 700 meters in altitude in Corullón (Toral de los Vados). Slate can sometimes give great finesse to the reds, and this is a good example. The palate reveals primary flavors, and this feels younger than the others. It's certainly different, a little ethereal and mysterious. It has some simplicity that is going to captivate many. In 2018, he did 50% full clusters with a maceration of 30 days, and the wine matured in a 600-liter oak barrel. 752 bottles were filled in December 2019.
