The nose of the 2018 Tino made me think of a very young Champagne, but with time in the glass there were more balsamic aromas. Apparently, this is a varietal Alvilla, a forgotten white grape that Formigo's father recovered, a grape from the Avia Valley that was almost extinct, though some suggest the variety could be the same as the Albillo Mayor from Ribera del Duero. The vines now average 12 years of age and are planted on sandy granite soils with good drainage. It has a round palate, with good volume and acidity, coming through as quite balanced. 666 bottles were filled in July 2019.
