2017 was a warm, early and low-yielding, difficult year in which much work was done on the grape selection and the production. The blend of the 2017 Petit Hipperia is quite different from other years—43% Syrah, 20% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc—to adapt to the more Mediterranean style of the year. With a majority of Syrah, which adapts better to warmer years, this is less influenced by the pyrazines of the Bordeaux varieties. It has a medium to full body, abundant tannins and sweet fruit, more polished and advanced than the 2018. 25,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2019.
