The Wine Advocate:

The 2019 Valles de Lavia Valle del Aceniche was produced with grapes from different vineyards in the valley that names the wine. It's pure Monastrell from 30- to 60-year-old vines at 800 meters in altitude on a narrow valley that is more humid and with less aeration than the valley of Venta del Pino on clay and limestone soils. The last grapes were picked the 15th of October and fermented with 20% full clusters with indigenous yeasts, then matured in well-seasoned, neutral 500-liter oak barrels, including malolactic, for 16 months. It has 14.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.5. This is clean and expressive, round and juicy, with good volume and with faint Mediterranean character. It fills your mouth, and the tannins are quite round. It's not terribly complex, but it's quite pleasant. 2,400 bottles and 30 magnums were filled in May 2021.
