Vidueños de Sedella 2020

The white wine Rosillo produces is the 2020 Vidueños de Sedella, for which he uses the field blend of a north-facing vineyard planted in 1929 with one-third Moscatel and the rest is what is known as Vidueño, the mix of local varieties. One-third of the volume fermented with skins and matured in used barrel with lees and the rest in concrete egg. It has a deep golden color and an "orange" nose of pollen, quince paste, juicy peach and an earthy touch. He thinks of this as a white to age in bottle (the label mentions "Blanco de Guarda"). It's light to medium-bodied with 13% alcohol and good freshness, and it has a delicate mouthfeel and very good balance. It's very original. A total of 998 bottles were produced from 0.1 hectares. It was bottled in August 2021.
