Avaliação dos peritos

Tim Atkin:

Volumes are small at only 2,000 bottles, alas, but this is a delicious, old-vine field blend from El Bardallo in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. A co-fermentation of Tempranillo, 5% Garnacha Tinta and 40% white grapes (Viura, Garnacha Blanca and Torrontés), it has some subtle reduction, vivacious raspberry, red cherry and pink grapefruit flavours, filigree tannins and remarkable palate length. Deliciously pure and refined. 2024-32

The Wine Advocate:

El Bardallo is a known lieu-dit in the village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, and a number of producers bottle wine from there. Abeica is one of them. Their 2021 El Bardallo was produced with 55% Tempranillo, 35% Viura, 5% Garnacha and 5% white varieties (Torrontés and Garnacha Blanca) from vines planted in 1958 at 560 meters above sea level. It fermented destemmed with selected yeasts in open stainless steel vats and had 14 days of maceration. It matured in used 500-liter French oak barrels for 11 months. It has contained ripeness (14.05% alcohol), a pH of 3.47 and 5.96 grams of acidity, which are parameters of nice balance and freshness. It's perfumed, clean and light, with no oak whatsoever, a fresh palate and almost imperceptible tannins. 1,726 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2023.
