The Wine Advocate:

The old-vine, single-vineyard red 2020 Acediano follows the path of the phenomenal 2018. It was produced with the fruit from a one-hectare vineyard in Nava de Roa bordering Valdezate that was planted in 1965 with the old strain of Tinto Fino (which they used to replant other vineyards) on a south-facing slope on two different soils, chalk and sand. The grapes from the two plots (one warmer and another one cooler) fermented separately, destemmed, with indigenous yeasts in 2,000-liter vats, and it matured in used 500-liter barrels for 15 months. It's still young and slightly marked by the élevage in oak, with subtle aromas of berries, herbs and spices, quite classical, powerful, ripe without excess (14.4% alcohol) and with good freshness and balance. The mouthfeel is serious, with abundant, fine-grained tannins and with the ingredients and balance between them for a long and positive evolution in bottle. 3,400 bottles were filled in April 2022. - Luis Gutiérrez.

Tim Atkin:

A wine that is rapidly gaining in reputation, Acediano hails from a 60-year-old parcel on the border between Nava de Roa and Valdezate. It's a gentler, slightly more approachable Tinto Fino than the 2019 release, but with similar depth and complexity. Asian spice and dark chocolate aromas segue into a palate of plum and blackberry supported by acidity and sculpted tannins. 2025-32
