Xurxo Alba reckons this is the only Mencía in Rías Baixas (though not in Galicia, obviously) and says it's the most approachable and "tamed" of his line-up of red wines. Fermented with 100% whole bunches – brave man! – this is floral and intense, with plum and summer pudding flavours, a top note of violet, plenty of tangy acidity and finely judged tannins. 2023-30
