Alma do Vello Tesouro 2021

The 2021 Alma do Vello Tesouro, from a young vineyard planted in the middle of chestnut trees at 580 meters in altitude in the village of Rubiá, fermented with indigenous yeasts and 50% full clusters and matured in well-seasoned used 500-liter French oak barrels for 14 months to preserve the perfume and delicacy of the local variety. The super pale, expressive and ethereal red was a revelation. The nose is kaleidoscopic, with very elegant floral notes, violets, aromatic herbs and white pepper, and there's an ethereal palate, with fine-grained tannins, grip and energy and an amazing sense of harmony. It's medium-bodied with moderate alcohol (11.95%), with super tasty flavors and an almost savory finish. I love it! It has to be the finest vintage for this wine. 1,490 bottles were produced in 2019. It was bottled in May 2021.
