Splendid baked plum and dark chocolate bouquet. There's a satisfying density to the dark fruit character with fabulous concentration and a pleasant silky texture as the wine moves across the palate. Has depth and balance, can go a long way and will only get better. A ripper of an ultra-modern Rioja.

De Garage is something of a success story at Baigorri, growing in production each year in response to demand. Based on Tempranillo with 10% Garnacha, Graciano and Maturana Tinta, it’s an unashamedly modern style, with violet aromas, lots of colour, scented oak, smooth tannins and well-upholstered dark berry flavours. 2023-30.

Sweet-berry, black-pepper and cedar aromas follow through to a medium body with firm tannins that are spread across the palate. Flavorful finish. Drink now.
