If you like your Riojas big, powerful and concentrated - and there's certainly a place for the style when it's as well done as this - De Garage is perfect. Tempranillo dominated with a supporting cast of Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo, it's inky, intense and glossy, with notes of mocha and dark berries and the concentration and acidity to age. 2027-35

James Suckling:

A complex nose showing fresh black cherries, blackberries, peppercorns and dark earth funk. This is quite juicy and fluid on the palate with a medium to full body rounded by polished, dusty tannins that evenly spread across the palate. Very long, extensive finish. Very enjoyable now, but can hold, too.

Decanter:

This has beautiful blue fruit, liquorice and black spice aromas and a structured palate. The oak is well-judged and it has great persistence.
