Suckling:

Ripe berries with smoky and toasted oak that follow through to a medium to full body with chewy tannins and an intense, flavorful blast at the end. A little too much oak, but it still holds together. Drink now.

Decanter:

Founded in 1987 by six wine-growing families, today the Burgo Viejo co-op makes wines from 16 growers with 200ha of vineyards in Rioja Oriental. This is an absolute bargain for classic Rioja lovers, offering plenty of mellow red and black fruit on the palate, with well defined cassis and blueberry notes. Wrapped in a veneer of oak, with grainy tannins and leathery hints, leading to a rich, spicy finish.
