The Wine Advocate:

"The 2011 Cepas Viejas is pure Mencía from old, head-pruned vines in the village of Valtuille de Arriba fermented in stainless steel and aged for nine months in used French and American oak barrels. It still has a nose dominated by smoky bacon and sweet spice notes over a core of ripe fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with some grainy tannins and roasted flavors. It ends slightly bitter and in a commercial style. 180,000 bottles produced".
