The Wine Advocate:

"The 2014 Cos Pés is Albariño from 40-year-old vines on sandy granitic soils fermented in stainless steel, with 50% full clusters and skins without temperature control. The wine was kept in used 500-liter oak barrels for one year before being bottled. The color is a dark gold/cooper, almost orange, from the skin contact. This process erases the varietal aromas of Albariño and can make the wines from different varieties look alike, but this is somehow different, with notes of quince, pollen, yellow plums and a little earthy. The palate shows some fine tannins, this kind of wine is perfect for white meat. This is quite clean and doesn't show the volatility of other vintages. This is not a wine for everybody, but it's very good for what it is and a great commercial success, as it's sold almost immediately. This is sold without Rías Baixas appellation. 1,200 bottles produced."
