Cruz de Alba is the Ribera del Duero twin of Rioja's Ramón Bilbao and well worth seeking out. This pure Tinto Fino hails from loam-based soils in Padilla de Duero and delivers plenty of flavour at the price. Aged in one-third new French oak, it has plum, red berry and vanilla spice flavours, bright acidity and well-judged, granular tannins. 2023-28
