This is so elegant and floral on the nose. Hints of dark fruit and tar as well. Some medicinal, herb undertones. Excellent balance between the soft, concentrated tannins and the bright acidity. Drink now.
Cariñena takes heat quite well, 2014 was slightly warmer than 2013, and the 2014 Dits del Terra behaved quite well, even in this south-facing vineyard in a slightly warmer place between Torroja and Gratallops. The 2014s were bottle slightly earlier, as he wanted more vibrant wine and felt the longer élevage resulted in slightly oxidative wines, which is something he likes and seeks for whites, but does not like for reds. As I've seen with other 2014s, there are abundant, young, fine-grained tannins here. 4,600 bottles were produced and filled in late June 2016.
