"The 2011 El Seque Dulce is the first year Juan Carlos has bottled a sweet wine after many years of trying different ways. This is more in a Vintage Port style (it’s even bottled in a Sherry/Port-style bottle) than a Fondillon. It aged for 12 months in 500-liter barrels. 100% Monastrell at 18.5% alcohol (about 5% of the alcohol is added), has 100 grams of sugar and lots of tannins, but manages to come through as balanced and fresh. Floral (violets), ripe fruit, persistent, velvety and elegant. It has a lot of everything and what’s important, all of it in balance. A very pleasurable, juicy sweet red. Drink 2013-2020".
