Faustino I Gran Reserva 2012

Spiced plums, red cherries and some dried meat on the nose, following through to a medium to full body that’s charged with firm, comfortably chewy tannins and juicy, savory plums and berries. Very poised, restrained and soft-spoken in style, showing a traditional sensibility. Tempranillo, graciano and mazuelo. Drink or hold.

This is delicately spicy and vibrant with a long finish marked by hints of cherry and tobacco. Showing well given its age; drink soon perhaps.

Justifiably popular around the world, Faustino's sprightly, youthful 2012 release is a panregional cuvée of Tempranillo with 9% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo, aged in a 70/30 medley of American and French oak. Sweet, savoury and intense, with layers of plum, bramble and strawberry fruit. 2023-29.
