The Wine Advocate:

The 2019 La Rosa only has the name in common with previous vintages, as this is a field blend of an old Bobal vineyard with some other 20% grapes, red and white, while in the past it used to be a selection of their best Syrah. It's from a vineyard known as Las Casilla de Don Tomás, which was planted on white gravel soils in 1939. It fermented with 30% full clusters and indigenous yeasts and matured in 500-liter French oak barrels for 18 months. This is now a pale and characterful wine, Mediterranean and fresh, herbal and meaty, very different, lighter and with very good freshness and fine tannins. It's tasty and young, with very good potential for developing in bottle. It comes from the higher altitude part of the vineyard, a stony part with less clay; they only take grapes from one hectare out of the three that the vineyard has. This is elegant and fine and a good example of the new style after winemaker Javi Revert became in charge of the wines. 2,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2021. In May 2020, there was hail in this vineyard, so this wine was not produced in 2020.
