The Wine Advocate:

"The 2013 Garnacha de Arrayán is produced with grapes from the Galayos zone of Cebreros in the province of Ávila, one of the few places within Gredos to have slate soils. These grapes are sourced from a very old vineyard on a steep slope at 980 meters altitude. 2013 was a cool vintage with a long growing cycle. They used 45% of full clusters to ferment the wine in open top oak barrels with indigenous yeasts. The wine matured in used 500-liter French oak barrels for 15 months. This feels better integrated and balanced, with finesse and elegance, subtler and fresher with a dominance of red fruit aromas. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with fine tannins and very good acidity, coming through as a fresh and lively Garnacha. This shows a clear improvement over previous Arrayán wines. It was bottled in March 2015. 1,296 bottles produced".
