The Girolamo Russo 2021 Etna Bianca Nerina offers another pretty interpretation of Etna from one of the volcano's most talented producers. This Carricante-based white is blended with smaller parts Catarratto, Minnella, Inzolia and Grecanico. The bouquet shows a lot of citrus and crushed stone with the occasional aroma of eucalyptus, green olive, cinnamon and saffron. Those spicy, almost waxy aromas come directly from the skins and the fruit.
Inviting aromas of lemon peel, wet stone and white tea. Medium-to full-bodied with a lovely, silky texture. Even-keeled and bright with a mineral backbone that adds complexity to the citrus palate. A charmer. Drink now.
