The Wine Advocate:

This is a relatively new addition to the Girolamo Russo portfolio, and it's certainly the estate's most important bottling. The 2019 Etna Rosso San Lorenzo Piano delle Colombe offers richer concentration and a deeply saturated color that remains luminous and elegant in the glass despite this bigger style. The wine is gorgeous, and although you need to coax the bouquet to open, especially at this young stage in the wine's lifeline, there's a lot to discover, like wild cherry, violet, sweet apricot, crushed volcanic stone, iron ore and white peppercorn. It is certainly broader and deeper in terms of structure, and its fine tannins are what will set up this wine for long cellar aging.

James Suckling:

This is a special bottling of 1,300 bottles from a small parcel of San Lorenzo. Extremely perfumed with roses and other flowers. Cherries and mulberries with some lemon. Full-bodied and layered with ultra-fine tannins and lots of energy in the finish. Fantastic ending. Only the second bottling after 2017. Better after 2024, but already a joy to taste.
