The Wine Advocate:

The 2021 La Muria is a new single-vineyard wine from the highest-altitude vineyard in Bierzo, at 1,045 meters above sea level, in the village of Viariz. It's from just the top of the vineyard, the highest-altitude part in this case, from 1,000 to 1,047 meters above sea level, on compact slate soils. This is a very old vineyard with a field blend with Mencía, Palomino (which they don't use) and a significant amount of Bastardo. The full clusters fermented with indigenous yeasts, were foot trodden and with two months of maceration, and the wine matured in a well-seasoned 500-liter barrel and another regular one. This is super elegant, surprising, very perfumed, floral and nuanced but with complexity and depth, an explosive palate and very fine tannins, with subtle minerality. This is an amazing wine, the most elegant ever produced by Raúl Pérez? They only produced around 700 liters, some 900 bottles of this elixir. Price is still approximate.
