La Zorra Raro 2014

"The 2014 Raro is old-vine Rufete from sandy soils fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in third-use French oak barrels for four months. Rufete is a grape that doesn't have a lot of color, it looks a little like a Garnacha or a Pinot Noir, ruby-colored and bright. It felt a little reductive and needs to breathe, so give it some time to start displaying those herbal (raspberry leaf) and red berry aromas that make it fresh, young, a little wild and full of personality. The palate is light to medium-bodied with very fine tannins and a subtle thread of acidity going through the core; this is easy to drink and quite supple. This is a perfect example of what Rufete can deliver. 5,900 bottles."
