Decanter:

Sumptuous red plum, liquorice and clotted cream aromas. Lots of character on the silky palate: juicy red fruit, smoky tar and lots of spicy oak. Fresh, grippy, polished and very long. Outstanding from all angles.

James Suckling:

Very dark hue. The nose has lots of oyster sauce, hot stone minerality and blackberries with an almost pulpy feel. Some dried violet, too. It turns quite fresh and vertical, full of fine-grained tannins that grip the palate. Very tight. Extremely bulky bottles, what’s the point? Better from 2024.
