The red 2016 Microcósmico Garnacha was produced with grapes grown in slate soils at 700 meters in altitude, in the village of Jarque. It fermented with 10% whole clusters and matured mostly in concrete, with the small remaining amounts that didn't fit in the vats, being matured in used 500-liter barrels for six months. As I saw with many other wines, this 2016 has gained in precision and freshness from the previous 2015 bottling. It's floral, perfumed and elegant, a naked Garnacha with great purity. The tannins are fine and it's simply delicious, with some notes of wild herbs and flowers. There were 16,000 bottles produced and bottled in June 2018. - Luis Gutiérrez.
