The Wine Advocate:

The 2018 Monte Diva is a dry Moscatel Romano with 13% alcohol and a pH of 3.3. It was produced from 50-year-old mountain vines on red soils, harvested fully ripe, and the crushed grapes fermented with skins in oak barrels for seven days, so a skin-contact white or "orange" wine. They have reduced the skin effect greatly, and the wine is very different. It matured in used French oak barrels for two years. It has a spectacular nose, very different, with a salty sensation, notes reminiscent of chicken broth, of something very tasty. It doesn't really feel like and "orange" and not even a varietal Moscatel; it's characterful, full of personality and nuance, developing even minty notes with time in the glass. It combines the salty and bitter notes in the palate, where it's very tasty and long. It should be interesting to see how this matures in bottle, especially after seeing a 1999 now... And I'm looking forward to tasting the following vintages. 1,400 bottles produced. It was bottled in October 2020.
