The Wine Advocate:

The 2012 Finca La Emperatriz Parcela No 1 was incredibly oaky and toasty in an end-of-the-1990s style. It also feels very ripe and the palate is invaded by abundant tannins, slightly drying and with a marked biter finish. I wonder if the wine will be able to absorb so much oak. I wonder about the 20 months in brand new barrels... For fans of oaky reds. 2,766 bottles. - Luis Gutiérrez.
