"The 2013 Pezas da Portela is pure Godello from 11 small plots (locally known as 'pezas') in the village of Portela; it fermented and matured in French oak in contact with the lees for six months with a further year in vat before bottling. 2013 was a cool, late vintage. I was a little surprised to find it a little oaky, and the palate quite light, like if a less concentrated vintage had reacted differently to the élevage. This is definitively a lighter, more immediate vintage of Pezas. I'd drink this sooner rather than later. 4,000 bottles were filled in June 2015".
