The Wine Advocate:

"The 2009 Pico Cuardro Original comes from a single plot of vines planted in 1932 and is matured for 18 months in French oak barrels. It has a perfumed bouquet of dark cherries, fresh dates, a touch of licorice, menthol and honey. The palate is full-bodied with a sweet, rounded entry that belies that firm structure underneath. It is very well-balanced with requisite acidity, while the finish has an almost viscous texture but remains fresh and long. There is great aging potential here: so give it 4-5 years in bottle. Drink 2015-2025".
