Schieferkopf Riesling Lieu-dit Fels 2011

"The Domaine Schieferkopf 2011 Riesling Fels emphasizes bittersweet and musky floral perfume akin to iris and narcissus, with juicy apple and citrus mediating an exchange with stony and crystalline mineral notes. As with the corresponding Buehl, there is admirable clarity and focus here, if less finishing excitement for now than experienced from either than sibling or the 2010 rendition of Fels. But I have a strong suspicion that this simply needs a bit more distance from bottling for ideal assessment and I have not had opportunity to revisit it this year. I would expect serious returns on investment through at least 2022".
