From other plots than the dry Gelblack, the 2022 Schloss Johannisberg Gelblack Riesling Feinherb is pure, refined and flinty on the delicate and fresh nose that reveals fine Riesling fruit with the specific terroir tone of the Johannisberg. Made without seeing any oak at all, the off-dry Gelblack is round, juicy and savory on the palate and develops a good, precise, mineral finish with aromatic length. Bottled in April with 14 grams per liter of residual sugar. Very good, savory and mouthwatering length. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in September 2023. - Stephen Reinhardt.
