The off-dry 2022 Schloss Johannisberg Rotlack Riesling Kabinett is pure, intense and fresh on the still a bit untamed and reductive nose that indicates ripe and lush fruit, though, intertwined with herbal and mineral notes. On the palate, this is a generous, refined, elegant, pure and saline Riesling with a substantial expression but also lovely lightness and finesse. it is still young but already gorgeous. This is a long-distance runner. 10.5% stated alcohol plus 26 grams per liter of residual sugar. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in September 2023. - Stephen Reinhardt.
