The Wine Advocate:

"Even the varietal-labeled 2011 Signo Garnacha contains 5% Garnacha Tintorera (or Alicante Bouschet) and 4% Moravia Agria (agria means sour, because the grapes have high acidity). All the vineyards are in clay-limestone soils and the Garnacha and Tintorera are around 40 years old, while the Moravia was planted 20 years ago. Their definition is that of a low-intervention vinification with native yeasts, vertical basket-pressed, unfiltered, unfined wines with minimal SO2 addition at bottling. The upbringing lasted some 11 months in used 300-liter oak barrels. This is the most floral and aromatic of all of Sandoval's wines as it shows notes of violets, wild strawberries and spices with the oak perfectly and neatly folded into the wine. The palate shows good freshness and very fine tannins with red fruit flavors that end up supple, tasty and almost salty. 3,850 bottles"
