Ghiaia Nera, meaning 'black gravel' is a nod to the organic vineyard’s volcanic soil. This vintage, from young vines, has real vibrancy and freshness. It's lighter bodied, with malleable tannins and lively acidity, showing floral charm and a core of red cherry and raspberry fruit with herb and earth nuances.

Another good value, the 2017 Ghiaia Nera offers a medium ruby/translucent hue to go with complex notes of spiced cherries, leafy underbrush, forest floor, and flowers. Almost Pinot Noir-like in its complexity as well as texture, it's medium-bodied, has a wonderful sense of minerality, terrific balance, and a great finish.
