The Wine Advocate:

The entry level is already the 2020 Tío Uco, a young red produced with purchased grapes in the Toro appellation where the soils are mostly sand and sandstone based at an average of 750 meters above sea level. It is approximately 90% Tinta de Toro and 10% Garnacha. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in used 3,500-, 1,200- and 1,000-liter oak foudres for five months. 2020 was a rainy and cold year with high yields. As I see in many other quality producers, he had to abandon the Toro appellation of origin due to bureaucratic problems. 2018 follows the line of the 2016, perhaps with better balance and with more Toro typicity (in the best sense possible) than the majority of wines from the appellation. It's juicy, velvety and round, open and fruit-driven, tasty and with very fine tannins, which make it very easy to drink. Instant pleasure. 12,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2021. - Lujs Gutiérrez.
