A beautiful wine that shows bright blueberries, tea leaves, lemons, tangerines, pink guava, rosemary and thyme. Very refined and suave on the palate, which is medium in body, but deep in flavors. Wonderfully tangy and vivacious throughout. Such transparency and poise. Drink now.
The slightly riper 2017 30.000 Maravedíes was also a majority of Garnacha with some 10% other local varieties that matured in a combination of barrels and 3,300-liter oak vats. Somehow there are some herbal aromas (the small amount of Morate?) but there's no heat or alcohol, and the wine shows poise and balance. Very pleasant to drink, very good for the year. 38,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2018. - Luis Gutiérrez.
