The peppery and herbal red 2021 Petit Hipperia was produced with a blend of about one-third Merlot, one-third Cabernet Franc and the rest a combination of Petit Verdot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a heady Bordeaux profile with the Mediterranean twist of some aromatic herbs and a heady 15% alcohol that makes it very showy. It finishes with a long taste of freshly cracked black peppercorns. 32,821 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2023.
Raspberries, licorice, mint jelly and red and black currants on the nose. Soft and juicy with a full body and supple tannins. I like the fresh mintiness here. Drink now.
